If you are using a router this will tell you the WAN IP address of your router.
Your WAN (Wide Area Network) IP Address is a number assigned to your computer, high speed modem, or router. The number is assigned by your ISP. It is used to identify your location as it relates to the Internet. The results of IP (Internet Protocol) based data transaction performed on your behalf as you surf and check mail are then delivered to the processing equipment (your modem, computer or router) responding to that address. Depending on your service level, your IP may be statically (always the same) or dynamically (varying).
